I have just finished this & as you can see it is in the raw, not
mounted. I have worked it on a 28count linen although in the photo it
looks like a water marked taffetta!!! Elaine

Thank you. The raised areas in the half flowers are french knots, the
edgings are a mixture of double knot stitch, portugese knot st.& a
whipped chain. The stems are all raised band. The filling
stitches were wave st, drawn fabric satin st in steps, reversed faggot
st., 4sided st leaving a thread of fabric between each square, really
pretty, & ringed back st. It was a good learning curve!! Elaine

That looks great!!
I do enjoy Pulled thread. I might get my act together and get some done. I have my 12 year old daughters birth stitching I have not finished yet which is pulled thread.

I have found it very difficult to get pulled thread designs here in Australia as they concentrate on drawn thread. I loved your design. Great work. Sandy

Thanks Sandy, in the past I have used designs of flowers, butterflies
etc as long as they have reasonable areas to fill in & used
my own pick of pulled thread stitches. This design however did
come in a pulled thread book, Drawn
Fabric Work by Hettie Van Huyssteen, & I also use Mary Frys Pulled
Thread Workbook. I really enjoy creating my own designs though. We
had our first Guild meeting for the year today with a goo turn out of
members. Great to catch up after the long summer break & see what
every one has achieved over the holidays. There was a lovely skite
table. Elaine

Sort of like a show & tell . we always have a display of what we
have finished over the past fortnight between meetings. Because of the
long summer break, 2 months, there was a real table full. Elaine
